Rated higher than Blind Faith, #14.
I don't think sad-sack is a fair description of TSG. For me it feels more like a celebration of someone he cares about.
Despite some darker themes, overall the album's mood on the AllMusic page is bright, poignant, springlike, warm, brash, cheerful, confident, innocent, lively, playful, reflective, rousing, wistful, wry, amiable/good-natured, bittersweet ,earnest, gentle, laid-back/Mellow, melancholy, organic. I feel they nailed it perfectly.
