Hmmm, they're ticking a few boxes with: alternative folk punk garage garage pop indie rock lo-fi post-punk psychedelic folk skronk pop St Helens.

They also managed to pronouce Mavers incorrectly. All very odd and I don't think Lee would hate it. I don't think Lee would have any strength of emotion about it.

Lee's brother Gary pronounces the name Mayvers - he even corrected someone on a television interview. Anyone that sees the name instantly pronounces it that way too because it would be spelt Mavvers if it was the way Lee claims it to be pronounced. I guess Lee deliberately pronouncing it differently to everyone else as it is part of his Beefheart mind control thing (no one else but Lee knows how to drum, tune up, record or produce etc etc)! lol

I know a Mavers (in no way related to Lee) and he pronounces Mayvers, like Gary.

So this

I know someone who's surname is McGrath and they pronounce it McGrar and I know someone who's surname is McClean and they pronounce it McClane (celtic pronounciations).

The actor Nigel Havers, obviously, pronounces it Hayvers and not Havvers.

The moral of the story, boys and girls, is to pronounce the person's name how they pronounce it and Lee pronounces it Mav(v)ers. Simple.
