Seen this on his twitter account yesterday @istanbandit , tweeted a couple of pictures ,1 at an airport in the States the other just coming in to land in Memphis ! Whos he working with now ,? Michael Kiwanuka again ? surely cant be Lee goin to the legendary Sun Studio to "get" that sound

Sun Studio was born to capture the pure raw energy of Beale Street. Sam Phillips was self-taught - and didn't know the rules.

He didn't know not to use so much echo - a three-piece band sounded like an all night party! He didn't know not to crank the amp up so high it distorted! He didn't know not to blend the musical styles - or that it wasn't supposed to be sheer passion and fun!

Rock N' Roll was created - with all these wonderful mistakes!

Lee was always after "that sound". Sam and Sun "got it", by "not getting it"...something Lillywhite or Hedges couldn't do. Too band Sam Phillips passed in '03...sounds like something Lee would be all over. The perfect antithesis of what we've come to expect of the man...'course, who is to say maybe Gary isn't on a mission on direct orders from Lee to scope out the place?

Lee could have downgraded from 60's dust to 50's!
