Any of Lee's kids in the music game?

Postby redlandsman87 » Wed Mar 28, 2012 10:47 pm

May be weird, but recently I've been following the hierarchy of "musical legends". Teaching my son how to play the guitar probably kick started it!

Been listening to the music of the Beatle's kids lately, looking for more of that "Beatles" sound...mainly Dhani Harrison, as I think he's the best out of the bunch. thenewno2 is a great, underrated band I think! Rich Starkey, fuckin' ace drummer. Not too big on Sean or Julian (John was never my favorite in the first place...). And James McCartney?...I'll pass, thank ya. Bob Dylan's kid, Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers, is also a class act. Not many other descendents I would recommend, really. Definitely not that Osbourne girl!

All of this listening, It made me wonder though. From the Macey book, I know Lee has what, four kids now? Surely one of them has picked up an instrument, maybe started a band like their deal ol' dad? I know it may sound strange, asking about such personal details...but well, if Lee can't reclaim his throne, I'm hoping he's trained and groomed a prince to perhaps carry on the La's sound and legend. I'd give them a listen!

I was in school with Lee's eldest and know of the others. I'm afraid none of them have picked up an instrument. Last saw his eldest in Amsterdam. There is a band in the offing, I'll post a new thread about them now...

Boom ba dah JANG
bada-boom bah
Boom ba dah JANG
Badda bang a-lang

Foreseeable future notwithstanding
A thread to tie loose ends
Questions unbalanced
Answers mist foggy
Clenching in grit
Walking briskly now over
Patiently I do sit

(Verse, as above)
Em - Cadd9 - Funky G6 hammering on the high E's G and B's C - A9

(Sounds nice)
Fmaj7 (toss in that extra bass note, no lazy three fingered Fmaj7s now!) - Cmaj9 - E7 - Dsus2

F - C - G - D

G

- End -

A quick little ditty written in appreciation, IIHAG. Cheers, thanks for the answer, best regards wished to all.

I had wondered the same actually, given that they'd be the right sort of age now.

So this 'new band' that you mention - is that one involving Lee's eldest?

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying. Sounds pretty interesting!

I take it there's no news on the current La's lineup? Really hope they're still active and rehearsing etc

If that includes Neil and Cammy, then it should be pretty interesting!

Seen Neil & Cammy at the Picket circa Oct `98, the gig was advertised as "Cammy" as being the band name . Cammy was on guitar & Lead vocals , songs were pretty good if i remember , quite catchy with a good groove , mind you I ended up watching mostly Neil on the skins , he was quite mesmerisingly good :D

Think I was at that gig :D , i was with gen lynn that night as we were doing demos for the living brain. John power also turned up if my memory serves. He had a song called "make a chain" (mentioned it on here before) that i can remember as being catchy.

I saw Lee tonight on the way home from work, in Altrincam. He was just walking down the street with a very studenty looking young lad, he was eating some sweets.

I beeped at him, have no idea why I did it.

Legend.

Beep your horn, or beep (make the mouth noise) face to face?

To beep or meep at Mavers is to love Mavers. Meep meep!
