I only know one person who has the whole tape and won't let go of it. It should be spread like, the music is magic.

A mate worked out the chords for lets go for a ride if anyone is interested, its pretty simple...

That pattern he plays through the verse is...

E E6th D A

E E6th
Let's go for a ride..
D A
Down to the tide..
E E6th
To the other side
D A
just in the moonlight
E E6th
why dont we dine
D A
why don't we lie
E D A
Oh no, I dont care

E D A
Oh no, I dont care AND SO ON...

E6th chord is like,
EADGBE
022120

Anyone know the chords to when will i see you again?

I haven't worked it out with a tape and guitar but just from ear I'd say When Will I See You Again is a bit like this.

G____G+A_G+B___C__C+B_C+A__G___G+A_G+B_C__C+B
When Will___I___See You___A___gain,Will Our Lips Meet
C+A__G
A____gain
REPEAT(at end of repeat go to D)

D________D+B__D+C__D+B___D+A__D_________D+B__D+C_
When Will__I___ See__ you,___ Oh__ when_will___ i____ see

D+B__D+A__D_______D+B__D+C__D+B_____D+A_
you,__oh______ Will__I___ See__ you,___ Oh__

C____________ __D/F#_____G__
when_will___ i____ see You Again

Explanation:-The chord progression is a simple G

EADGBE
320033

To C(Add 9)

EADGBE
x32033

the rest looks complicated but is actually a simple bass string riff which goes up the scale,G-A-B-C then back down C-B-A-G
So if you see G+A this means a G chord with an A note as bass.By muting the lowest E string and playing the A string open as the first note of the chord this is acheived.
The same bass string riff is played over the D to C chord progression in the second part but with D as the first bass note instead of G(ie D A B C B A D...etc).
Looking at the tab above it looks,to me,very confusing but I'm sure that with a bit of concentration you'll get me drift.

It can be played without the bass string run by simply playing
these chords for a bar each in waltz time.

G__C__G__C__G__C__G__C
D__C__D__C__D__C__C__D/F#(then from the top) etc

I hope this can be understood and of use to someone(anyone!).

Cheers,
Paul

Ride

Postby Tony » Thu Apr 14, 2005 6:04 pm

Mavers' guitar is tuned down a step on these tapes.

I play Let's Go For A Ride as:

E, E6, Dsus2, A - very similar to your mate's, FlyingMachine.

The D chord is played like this.

EADGBE
X04230
(that's a D sus2 with an A in the bass and an added F# on the dSTRING,probably not it's proper,scientific name but that's how it's fingered-ooh,err etc,etc)

Cheers,
Tabs

Postby Tony » Wed Apr 27, 2005 4:24 pm

Tabbing "new" stuff already, hehe.

WWISYA? I play roughly as G-C then A-D. Of course I go from Rod's aforementioned G and C figures to the standard ones halfway through, what would be the middle 8 I guess if the song had a little more structure. Doesn't sound quite right sadly. I'll see what I can come up with from the Futurama version . .

Other lyrics seem to be "Will my heart beat again / is this really the end / (Do we have to?) pretend" but it's sketchy as a Rolf Harris doodle. Hopefully the lyrics will be finished by June!

It's interesting if these Crescent tape songs show off Lee's "new way of tuning" - because it's just a full step down from standard! (Yes, I was sad enough to tune my acoustic to Something I Said)

ha me 2. although, its not HIS new way either, hendrix, the who and the stones to name afew used down tunings so the chords can ring more, have more resonance (<?) like. its just been forgotten. great for 1, 4 ,5 chord progressions

Tony,

Another line I hear in WWISYA is:-
"Every Letter You Send,I'll See You In The End"

and also the immortal
"Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba"!!!(but I'm not sure if I have the lyrics right for that one)

Cheers,
just to tidy up, what songs have been worked out from this tape so far?

Raindance, human race, tears in the rain, lets go for a ride, ladies and gentlemen, rebound, fishing net, and when will I see you again...

These have all been tabbed, yeahh?

anyone worked out the others yet?

Minefield + Open your mind...

Sorry I'm a little lost with the progress, but the songs on this tape are just fucking magical... :)
