Disclaimer: this is very rough as I'm doing it from memory without a guitar about!

Listening closely, to me it sounds like he's playing slightly adjusted A and G chords which maintain the D chord shape on the B and high E strings.

Something like:

G: 3-2-0-3-2-3
D: x-x-0-3-2-3
A: x-0-2-3-2-3

There's a little fiddling about on the D chord every now and again where you play the high e and then both the high E and G string open. Probably makes a bit more sense when you listen to the track.

Then it's just figuring out the strumming and the little solo bit, which seems to be semi-picked around a G (adding a pinkie on the high e, 5th fret), A (0-0-7-6-5-7) and D (5th fret, adding an E bass note on the A string).

Apologies for being lazy and not properly typing out the full chords etc, but hopefully that gives a basis to work on. There's probably plenty wrong there to discuss too...

I think it's more like A > Dsus2 > G > D

Code: Select all
e|--0--0--3--2--|
B|--2--3--3--3--|
G|--2--2--0--2--|
D|--2--0--0--0--|
A|--0--0--2--0--|
E|--x--2--3--2--|

I think the Dsus2 is omitted in the chorus.

been having a go at sussing out raindance. Got something that sounding nearly right,

tuned to around 427 / 428 hz , Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb. seems to be mainly based around D major shape adding using the thumb on the bass notes. Still doesn't sound quite right but getting closer. anyone suss it??

e|--2----0----2----2----|
B|--3----3----3----3----|
G|--2----2----2----2----| back to begining
D|--0----0----2----0----|
A|--0----0----0----0----|
E|--3----2----0----2----|
