Another little list for your perusal. Bound to be something I've missed, so any additions/corrections welcome. For example can anyone remember if it was Boo or Barry Sutton (or both?) who played at least one of the '94/'95 gigs?

Yeah I thought so. There's an interview were he mentions it isn't there. Can't for the life of me remember what it was in though.

John's real name is John Byrne...i know it's probably just a typo but thought I'd point it out!

Thankyou for posting, Neil83. It is interesting to note that Lee Garnet and Neil Mavers are listed as being in the band until 1997. Does anybody know what made Lee dismantle this line-up circa 1997? He seemed to have been happy with it for quite a while (both were members of the band at the time of the NME interview in 1995) - did anything significant happen to end that line-up?

Remember that there are the boys from The Crescent too, in 1998!

Cheers, all.

I think the rule is that you have to have actually played a public gig under the name La's before you can be considered to be a member. Otherwise you have to count Drew from Babyshambles and anyone else who may have jammed with Lee from time to time. Do those opening slots for Babyshambles and the webcasts count or no?

Erm... I suppose there's no hard and fast rules really. If it was just based on live appearances than that'd rule out the guys pre- Feb '86 and Edgar Jones etc...

I guess they have to have done something, be it a gig, radio session, studio session, whatever - and it having been billed or logged as being The La's.

In The Crescent lad's case - a few jams with Lee with the vague promise of forming the new lineup doesn't really qualify them IMO.

And yeah the Babyshambles/Drew McConnell stuff would be classed as a Lee Mavers (rather than La's) side project if anything at all.

Yeah, I always thought the Crescent\Mavers jams were a 'private' thing.

Not sure if by this point The La's were a functioning band, maybe just Lee trying to get his act together. Lee started recording in Rat Scabies' Arch Studio in 1996(?), originally alone then invited musicians Edgar Summertyme, Lee Garnett, Neil Mavers. Sessions stopped because of damp, Mavers + Summertyme jammed/recorded together in Liverpool for about a year then all fizzled out for some unknown reason.

Some possible additions to the list

1. David Evans played bass for one gig pre-John Power (1986). Was the organiser of the Elegance, Charm, Danger album.

2. Tony Mogan played drums for a couple of gigs - not sure what dates probably around '87. Also played in Marshmallow Overcoat and Walkingseeds with Barry.

3. Gary Bandit currently playing bass for "stripped back" gigs with Lee since June 2011

Cheers for them NSNO.

Not sure about including Gary Murphy yet. He's still at that Drew McConnell stage at the minute. Where you would't quite say he's a full 'La'. Though unlike Drew, he has played and importantly been billed as The La's (albeit with the 'Stripped Back' tag). Which is one of my usual requirements for inclusion. So I suppose technically he should be in there...
