He taped the Strasbourg '91 show.
the show is 70 minutes length
taped on a Sony WM-D3 with a Sony PC62 microphone.

I don't have much more information, but I will ask him if he can copy it.

That'd be brilliant brakhage if you can get hold of a copy. I've known for ages there was a tape of that gig circulating but I could never track a copy down.

Hi,

I think it's always worth asking this question every now and then just to see if anything turns up.

Does anyone know of a tape from the 1995 set of shows.I was at one of the shows and amonst the usual suspects (Son Of A Gun,Freedom Song,Clean Prophet,etc...) and Who covers were at least four 'new' songs(new to my ears at the time anyway).

These gigs were not the shambles that people would have you believe.(The people who condemn these '95 gig seem to be poeple who didn;t actually witness any of the shows by the way-It's just another La's myth that Lee was so fucked up he'd come on,play There She Goes six times and then walk off again.)

The '95 shows were certainly on par,if not better than the 2005 shows.(Yes,I know Lee had a problem with his mouth in '05 which hampered proceedings but the televised portions of that mini-tour are painful to watch and hear)

Somebody please find a tape.Do a bit of digging and see what you can find. It's a crucial lost period of La's-dom

Cheers,
Paul

Yep I echo that. If anyone has any information about the '94/'95 gigs, be it knowledge of a recording or just the correct dates, setlists etc... Please share it.

Having been to the venue a few times in the past months and chatting with a lad whose worked there the past couple of decades, I can tell you for definite there has never been a venue called the Queen Mary in Glasgow, nor has any band played such a venue. It's the Queen Margaret Union, always has been.

You're determined to get me to change that aren't yer!

Alright since you've got to the trouble of researching it I will do. I'm still confused though about where references (such as below), to a Queen Mary Union come from.

It's obviously the same thing, I have a Smiths bootleg for the Queen Mary Union, part of Glasgow Uni.

Seriously, google for both the names in quotes

It's the QUEEN MARGARET UNION (known locally as the QM). Trust me. Get rid of any mention of Queen Mary. It's wrong.

Neil, any reason for the 'Fishin' Net' title?

Erm...Well we know that's what Lee called it at the time from that Lillywhite interview a while back, so that's what I've decided to go with. Though had it ever been released I suspect it would've been changed, much like 'Big Black Car' becoming 'I Can't Sleep'.
