I saw him last month for the first time at The Eden Project. To be honest, although I'm a big fan of his solo stuff (as well as The Roses) I wasn't expecting too much as he's always getting slated for the quality of his live vocals. Still, my brother talked me into it and I wasn't disapointed...the vocals were quality. As well as a good mix of his solo stuff he also threw in 'She Bangs The Drums', 'Elizabeth My Dear' and 'Made Of Stone', as well as covering 'Submission' by the Sex Pistols (which incidently also included a little refrain from 'Hello, I Love You' by The Doors). Personally, I thought it was a great gig, one of the best I've seen this year (second to The La's at Sheffield), although I am a big fan of his. If you're thinking of going just to hear some Roses tunes I wouldn't bother as it seems like he varys what roses tunes he plays (if any). That said, on that particular night at the Eden Project the vocals were top and the vibe in the crowd was amazing. Very impressive.

Over & out

Seen him a few times now – last at Manchester and he lifted the roof. Highly recommend anyone to see him. If you expect Brownies voice to be spot on for every song this isn't the gig for you. But the man is a legend and is easily forgiven.

Do, I saw him at the MEN and he was superb. Flawless vocals and his band were fantastic.

Next time you have the chance, go for it

I've seen him twice in the last year, and both times he was brilliant.

No problems with his voice at all.

He did start bitching at the soundguy for about 5 minutes, but he seemed to be hearing himself ok the rest of the time.

He has some awesome songs, but didn't really choose too well for the filler songs of the show. No Gettin High, Billie Jean or Thriller! I was gutted.

I was front row both times and he puts on a hell of a show.

You must see him live to get the full effect.

Yeah, you know you're right. The Roses were just too good, too special for that shite of reunion craze!
